The Giffoni Film Festival shared the exciting news that Eddie will be attending the festival at the end of the month!

Tony Award Winning British actor Eddie Redmayne is the latest addition to the list of talent to be honored at the 43rd Giffoni Film Festival. He will be feted on July 26.

A versatile artist, Redmayne continues to add memorable roles and accolades to his resume across all platforms, including live theater, television, and film. His impressive body of work led to a 2012 BAFTA Award nomination in Orange Wednesday’s Rising Star category, and in the past two years alone the actor has had unforgettable turns in both MY WEEK WITH MARILYN alongside Michelle Williams, Dame Judi Dench, and Kenneth Branagh, as well as Tom Hooper’s film adaptation of LES MISERABLES opposite Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfried. The latter film took the 2013 awards-circuit by storm where it received the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture – Comedy/Musical and the National Board of Review Award for Best Acting by an Ensemble. Together, the actors also received a nomination by the Screen Actors Guild for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and the film itself earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

For his outstanding performance in Michael Grandage’s critically acclaimed Broadway theatrical production RED in 2010, Redmayne won both Tony and Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Supporting Actor. Prior, on the West End, he played to rave reviews in Edward Albee’s powerful drama THE GOAT OR WHO IS SYLVIA?, in a role that earned him the 2004 London Evening Standard Award and the 2005 London Critics Circle Theatre Award for Outstanding Newcomer, as well as a nomination for the 2005 Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role. His additional stage credits include Christopher Shinn’s NOW OR LATER, and his titular role in Shakespeare’s RICHARD II.

On television, Redmayne has appeared in the 2011 Golden Globe and Emmy nominated adapted mini-series THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH, as well as starring roles in the book to television adaptations of TESS OF THE D’UBERVILLES and BIRDSONG.
Redmayne made his debut on the big screen in 2006 in Robert De Niro’s dramatic thriller THE GOOD SHEPHERD, starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie. Additional film credits include: ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE, directed by Shekhar Kapur, and co-starring Cate Blanchett, LIKE MINDS starring Toni Collette, THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL, SAVAGE GRACE starring Julianne Moore, THE YELLOW HANDKERCHIEF, with Maria Bello and William Hurt, and Christopher Smith’s BLACK DEATH. He has also starred in Stephen Poliakoff’s GLORIOUS 39 opposite Romola Garai, Julie Christie, Bill Nighy and Juno Temple, POWDER BLUE by Timothy Linh Bui with Jessica Biel and Forrest Whittaker, and Derick Martini’s film HICK, adapted from the novel by Andrea Portes.

Currently, Redmayne is filming JUPITER ASCENDING, the Wachowski’s sci-fi epic co-starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, which is slated for theatrical release in 2014.
