We have the new film’s title! CAN”T WAIT! Only 365 days left until it’s released!

The followup hits theaters Nov. 16, 2018.

The full title of the Fantastic Beasts sequel has been revealed.

A year out from its release date, Warner Bros. announced that the followup to the 2016 hit will be titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

That title is in reference to Gellert Grindelwald, the character played by Johnny Depp. At the end of the first movie, the powerful Dark wizard was revealed and captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. The sequel will follow the efforts of Albus Dumbledore, played by Jude Law, to thwart Grindelwald.

David Yates again directs the followup from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. Eddie Redmayne — who stars in the series as a 1920s magizoologist named Newt Scamander — Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller and Carmen Ejogo will reprise their roles in the sequel. Callum Turner, Zoe Kravitz and Jessica Williams are also among the franchise’s new additions.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters Nov. 16, 2018. The announcement also included a first-look photo of the cast in character.
