February 13, 2015   Ali   Articles & Interviews, Video Comments Off on What is Eddie Redmayne’s Most Embarrassing Moment?

Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, Patricia Arquette, Michael Keaton and more are interviewed at their photo shoot for People Magazine’s Oscar Portfolio.

Eddie’s part of the video starts at the one minute mark!

Before Eddie Redmayne was hobnobbing with A-listers and attending glitzy red carpet events, he was a waiter in England, where an embarrassing incident motivated him to change his career path entirely.

“I was at the British Soap Awards,” the Theory of Everything actor reveals in a personal interview with PEOPLE. “I was [holding] a tray with a load of champagne glasses on it and this guy put this one glass on top of all the others and the whole tray smashed. That was a low but it kind of galvanized me. I said, ‘All right, I’m going to become a decent actor so I don’t have to experience this again.’ ”

Luckily, Redmayne’s charm and talent (his first role was as Urchin #43 in Oliver!), ultimately got him his dream job, a fact he’s still getting used to. “I feel incredibly lucky,” says the first-time Oscar nominee. “I’m trying to photograph in my mind all the memories so when I’m older we can look back.”

And the multitalented actor (he’s also a gifted pianist who played for crew at the video shoot) is practical about not being able to please all the critics. “In England we have this spread called Marmite. You either love it or you hate it. I’m learning to trust the notion of subjectivity!

February 9, 2015   Ali   Articles & Interviews, Relationships & Family Comments Off on Eddie Redmayne Wins BAFTA and Best Husband Award

I love how Eddie talks about Hannah and her reaction to his fame in this article from People.com

Eddie Redmayne is one happily married man, and he’s not afraid to shout it from the rooftops.

“I love married life!” he declared after bagging the best actor prize at Sunday’s British Academy Film Awards. He made his remarks backstage at London’s Royal Opera House during winners’ press conference.

Earlier in the evening, The Theory of Everything leading man, 33, walked the red carpet, often stopping to offer an affectionate hug or put his arm around his new wife, Hannah Bagshawe. Wearing a pewter-embellished gown by Valentino, she seemed in awe of the scene before her – hordes of fans screaming her husband’s name.

“It does feel very surreal,” Redmayne told PEOPLE. “But I don’t think you can take it too seriously, because you know it could be gone in a shot.”

He told reporters on the red carpet that he thought he wife found the whole scene “quite funny.”

Besides being nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of physicist Stephen Hawking in the biopic, Redmayne has already won a Golden Globe and a SAG award for the challenging role.

He recovered from the “very intense shoot, which took its toll,” he said, by taking time to practice his culinary skills. “Hannah works,” he said. “She has a proper job so I cooked dinner!”

Attending the Globes actually forced them to cut their honeymoon short – but Redmayne hopes to set that right. After finishing his next film, The Danish Girl (which starts filming next week), the Brit is planning on taking his wife on vacation.

“The plan is to go and sit on a beach somewhere – she certainly deserves it,” he said, adding, “[I can] get a few more freckles.”

February 5, 2015   Ali   Articles & Interviews, Images, Magazines, Video Comments Off on The British Are Coming! Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue 2015

Eddie is one of the stars featured on the cover of the Vanity Fair Hollywood Portfolio issue.

Channing Tatum, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, and seven more of the year’s brightest stars, photographed by Annie Leibovitz.

On the cover of the 21st annual Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue, Amy Adams is wearing Atelier Versace. And Channing Tatum, as he joked, is wearing Amy Adams.

The Foxcatcher and Big Eyes stars join seven other actors, including Wild’s Reese Witherspoon, on this year’s iconic three-panel foldout, with the men wearing bespoke white tie and the women evoking the glamour of Old Hollywood in gold and red gowns.

The cover lineup, in full:

Channing Tatum, star of Foxcatcher, which received five Oscar nominations including best director.

Amy Adams, four-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner for Big Eyes.

Reese Witherspoon, who is Oscar-nominated alongside her Wild co-star Laura Dern.

Eddie Redmayne, a best-actor nominee for his performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

Felicity Jones, a best-actress nominee for her performance as Jane Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

David Oyelowo, star of best-picture nominee Selma.

Benedict Cumberbatch, a best-actor nominee for his performance as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game.

Sienna Miller, star of best-picture nominee American Sniper as well as Foxcatcher.

Miles Teller, star of best-picture nominee Whiplash.

Oscar Isaac, star of National Board of Review winner A Most Violent Year.

Annie Leibovitz has photographed all but three of the Hollywood Issue covers since the first edition debuted, in 1995, and she describes this year’s shoot as “hair-rising” in its intimacy: “Usually you shoot from fairly far away, but we wanted to get really close to the actors. We made an effort to create a feeling of intimacy. I pushed into them, shooting to the left and then the right, coming in as tight as I could.”

Here is a video with those featured on the cover:

February 3, 2015   Ali   Articles & Interviews Comments Off on Eddie Redmayne Was Stopped by Airport Security Because of His Golden Globe

This article from Vanity Fair made me smile so much! Eddie is adorable!

The T.S.A. has worked out oddly-specific regulations for seemingly every possible carry-on item—“creamy dips and cheeses”, meat cleavers, and paintball equipment included. One area for which the T.S.A. has not figured out regulations, however, seems to be acting awards. At least, that is what one Golden Globe winner suggested during an interview today.

While at the Oscar nominees luncheon on Monday in Los Angeles, Eddie Redmayne told reporters about his surreal experience at the airport last month, a day after winning his Golden Globe for The Theory of Everything.

“I saw the bag go through [the X-ray machine] and I saw the [T.S.A. attendant] stop the thing and then go close up on this weird shaped thing,” explained the actor. “She was like, ‘I think it’s an award or something.’”

Redmayne revealed that he was thrilled at the chance to show off his shiny new statuette.

“I was praying that they would make me open it up. . . and they did. That was very special moment,” he said, even if the T.S.A. attendant did not seem to recognize him. “The guy was like, ‘Is this real?’”

Redmayne is not the only actor to struggle with transporting a new acting award. Back in 2012, we stumbled upon photographic evidence that Julianne Moore, the everywoman of award winners, toted her Emmy award for Game Change through airport security in a brown paper bag. And we loved her even more for it.
