Time gives us a sneak peek at Eddie narrating the Fantastic Beasts Audiobook.

J.K. Rowling fans will soon be able to revisit the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them—this time through narration from Eddie Redmayne in the upcoming audiobook.

In a clip shared with TIME, Redmayne, who played Newt Scamander in the film adaptation of Fantastic Beasts, narrates a bit from the book about Golden Snidgets, a small bird that served as a precursor to the Golden Snitch in the game of Quidditch. Redmayne recites the history of the Snidget, and recounts how the bird was hunted nearly to extinction.

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them audiobook will be available on March 14. You can preorder the title here. Listen to Redmayne’s narration in a clip on the Time website.

March 3, 2017   Ali   Co-Stars, Video Comments Off on Tom Hiddleston Totally Nailed His Role as Eddie Redmayne’s Elephant in a School Play

Love this story by Tom Hiddleston on a recent episode of the Graham Norton show.

Mr. Tom Hiddleston, you have come a very long way.

Long before becoming a Hollywood A-lister or earning the role of Loki in the Thor franchise, the actor was just a kid exploring the acting bug in school.

While appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Tom looked back at one of his first roles with a man many will also recognize. Anyone heard of Eddie Redmayne?

“He was a great talent even then,” Tom revealed this week. “He was a huge star and we were in a school production of A Passage to India by E.M. Forster.”

Eddie was playing the female lead as his character took an expedition to a cultural landmark by elephant. As for Tom’s role, it was a bit more different.

“I’m delighted to reveal that I played the front, right leg of the elephant that Eddie was riding on,” Tom shared while laughing. “We’re holding a table with a cushion on top of it and also tablecloths over our faces because our bodies are the elephant.”

Ultimately, both men who attended an all-boys school ended up with great success.
Eddie won an Oscar for his role in The Theory of Everything. He also starred in huge box office hits like Les Misérables and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

As for Tom, he’s found success on both the small and big screen thanks to his roles in The Night Manager, Crimson Peak and the upcoming Kong: Skull Island.

Dreams come true, kids!

December 9, 2016   Ali   Articles & Interviews Comments Off on Eddie Redmayne: ‘More Fantastic Beasts Films Will Only Be Made If People Enjoy Them’

Eddie Redmayne told GQ what he really thinks about JK Rowling and the five Fantastic Beasts movies, revealed the challenges of dressing as a colourblind man (beware green suits!) and talked about his favourite watch as a child as he hosts a dinner to launch the new Omega Globemaster Annual Calendar

Have you always worn a watch?

I have, as a kid I was obsessed with Flik Flak, which was my first watch. But I could actually sing you the ad. [sings] Flik Flaks, they’re water resistant, Flik Flaks, they’re shock resistant!

You could change the bit in the middle, they cost £15, I remember. And then I got into Swatches, and I was weirdly into the Swatch skins, and they’re super thin. And then my dad always had an Omega deVille, a very old classic. It was gold with a leather strap. And so when I graduated to being a grown-up I owned other watches.

I’m wearing the Omega Globemaster Annual Calendar, which is the new model. I’ve been wearing the Globemaster for about a year and a half and this one has the calendar-y bits on the side, which is all new. You only have to change the date once a year, on the 29th of February.

How do you pair your watch with your outfit?

Generally I wear quite muted colours, so I have this one and I have a Globemaster without the calendar which is blue faced. I’m colourblind so in my own life I tend to wear blues, greys, and keep it to muted tones that I know are the right colour. So I went for the blue watch face, and the grey one here, so that it tends not to clash, it works with everything.

What’s it like being colourblind?

It’s weird when you try and describe colourblindness to people. Because they’re like, “what, red-green?”, and you’re like, “yes”, blues and purples I confuse. I go for greys and browns, and no, I don’t see in black and white, you actually see in colour, it’s just confusion of colour.

I almost feel like a bit of a fraud when I say I’m colourblind, because I see in colour. [I have problems when], for example, I’m shooting a scene, and you have to hit a mark on the floor, and it’s a red marker on green grass. With my peripheral vision I haven’t got a chance. If I look down I can see the difference between the red and the green, but I don’t know how to explain it to people.
