Comments Off on Why Eddie Redmayne’s Girlfriend Helps Him Get Dressed
Ali

People.com spoke to Eddie about his red carpet looks and he shared that his girlfriend Hannah Bagshawe helps out in that department and why.

Eddie Redmayne, the British heartthrob who plays Marius in the film adaptation of Les Misérables, owes his girlfriend many thanks for helping him become one of Hollywood’s newest best-dressed male stars.

“I’m color blind,” Redmayne told PEOPLE on Tuesday at the National Board of Review in New York, where he and his Les Mis costars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried won the best ensemble cast award.

“I’m confused with colors. When I go out to premieres and events, I have to check with my girlfriend [Hannah Bagshawe] that the trousers match the top,” he explained. “I recently wore a blue suit — and I had to ask her if it was really blue rather than purple. She assured me it was blue. I could not tell the difference.”

The freckle-faced actor, who played Michelle Williams‘s love interest in the 2011 drama My Week with Marilyn, is tight-lipped about his personal life with Bagshawe, but said, “I’m lucky to be with someone who is very supportive.”

The couple has been dating for about a year.

Comments Off on Eddie Redmayne compares ‘Les Miserables’ to ‘Twilight’
Ali

Zap2It caught up with Eddie at the People’s Choice Awards and while being interviewed he compared Les Mis to Twilight …

If you don’t already know Eddie Redmayne’s name, you soon will. The British star had a breakout performance in “Les Miserables,” which is great for him because he is a huge fan of the musical.

“[‘Les Miserables’] has such a massive fanbase — I am one of those fans,” he admitted on the red carpet, comparing the tale to “Twilight” and “The Hunger Games.” “Back in the day, ‘Les Mis’ was kind of one of those.”

He should know about the comparison, too: Redmayne made a movie with Kristen Stewart called “The Yellow Handkerchief.” Though he might not get the same sort of worldwide superstardom that she now has thanks to “Twilight,” this still is a pretty big deal to him. “I will be lying to say it wasn’t a terrifying experience,” he said of “Les Miserables.”

Comments Off on Santa Barbara Film Festival 2013 Virtuosos Award
Ali

The Santa Barbara Film Festival has announced their honorees for the 2013 Virtuosos Award, and it’s again filled with some of the year’s biggest breakout stars. Part breakout, part performance, the award is given to “standout performers”, and this year’s recipients are: Eddie Redmayne, for his portrayal of student revolutionary Marius in “Les Miserables”; Elle Fanning for her performance as a young war protestor coming of age in 1960s Britain in Sally Potter’s “Ginger and Rosa”; Omar Sy, a French actor, comedian, writer, producer and television personality who garnered raves in “The Intouchables”; Ann Dowd for her performance as a manager unwittingly drawn into a twisted prank in “Compliance”; and Ezra Miller, as the outrageous and heartbreaking Patrick in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.”

Last year’s Virtuosos Award went to Demián Bichir, Rooney Mara, Melissa McCarthy, Patton Oswalt, Andy Serkis and Shailene Woodley, three of whom went on to receive Oscar nominations for their performances. This year’s honorees will be in town to pick up their trophies on January 29th. Other honorees this year include Jennifer Lawrence, who will be presented with the Outstanding Performer of the Year Award.
